ABOUT WRE

White Rock Elementary is located in the Lake Highlands area of Dallas and are proud to be a part of the highly acclaimed Richardson Independent School District. The teachers and staff at White Rock are dedicated to providing positive educational experiences for all students. Since 2009 WRE has been recognized as an Exemplary school by TEA. WRE offers a wide variety of programs and services in order to meet the needs of all students including (but not limited to) counseling, Special Education support, band, orchestra, honor choir, after school care, REACH, QUEST, Junior Achievement, and technology and media integration.

HISTORY OF WRE

Richardson ISD opened White Rock Elementary in September 1961 with 14 classrooms, a cafeteria, a gym and 367 students. WRE now has over 930 students and has been beautifully renovated with a new office, six new class rooms, and updates in the gym.

Beautiful trees, a nature center, a pavilion, soccer fields and two different play areas surround WRE making the grounds inviting, pleasing to the eye and functional. Students, parents and community enjoy our school grounds during school hours, after school hours and throughout the weekend.

WRE celebrated their 56th anniversary last year and they continue to have a lot to celebrate. WRE continues to challenge and prepare students for a global future.
